I Found The Calling — Wine That Is

You may have thought that I fell off the face of the earth since I haven’t had a new blogpost since March. Don’t worry, I’m still here, but there have definitely been some changes. Some good…some sad, but I continue to march forward to my calling whatever that may be.

Appropriate for the occasion, back in May I was fortunate to meet Jim Nance (the voice of CBS sports and The Masters golf tournament). He was promoting his selection of Sonoma wines called The Calling and was in town for the PGA tournament. Nothing was better than talking golf and wine with Jim Nance for those couple of minutes!

I sampled the Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and the Alexander Valley Cabernet. All were very good! This tier was in the $30 range, but there is a more expensive tier of signature wines. I opted to purchase a bottle of the 2012 Russian River Valley Dutton Ranch Chardonnay. I even got Jim to sign it, “To Jenny — To your ‘calling’.”

So, while I’m not sure I know what my calling is yet, I know it’s bound to be something great. Hell, how can it not be if I have Jim Nance’s words on a wine bottle to remind me of that!
